Inflection Managing Partner, Inc. ("Inflection", "we", "us") operates inflection.fund. This section explains what personal data we process, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to this website and to the internal tools we run against our own accounts.
What we collect on this website
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we set no analytics cookies.
Page analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records aggregated page views, referrer, approximate country, device type and a "read depth" signal indicating how far down an article a visit reached. It does not build a cross-site profile and does not identify you personally.
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, records standard request data including IP address, user agent and timestamp, for delivery, security and abuse prevention.
Images and content delivery. Page images are served by Sanity's content delivery network, which receives your IP address as a necessary part of delivering them.
Email you send us. If you write to contact@inflection.fund or otherwise contact us, we keep your message and address in order to reply.
We do not ask for or store payment details, account credentials, or special categories of personal data through this website.
Why we process it, and on what basis
We process the above for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and understanding the reach of our own website, and to respond to correspondence you initiate. We do not use any of it for automated decision-making or profiling.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained by Vercel in aggregate for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept for a short operational period. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed for the matter it concerns and our record-keeping obligations.
Sharing
We share personal data only with the service providers that make the site work, currently Vercel for hosting and analytics and Sanity for content management, and with advisers or authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data, do not share it with data brokers or information resellers, and do not use it for targeted advertising.
Those providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete or erase it, restrict or object to our processing of it, or provide it in a portable form. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. These rights arise under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
To exercise any of these, write to contact@inflection.fund. We will respond within one month.
Our internal reporting tools and Google user data
We run a private internal dashboard, Inflection Fund Visibility, which reports on how our own website performs in search and in AI assistants. It is used only by Inflection's partners and is not available to the public.
That tool authenticates to Google using an OAuth client owned by Inflection and requests two scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly, read-only access to Google Search Console data for the inflection.fund property, so we can see how our own pages appear in search results.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/bigquery, access to our own Google BigQuery project, which stores the Search Console bulk export of that same data.
Whose data this is. The only Google account the tool accesses is Inflection's own. It does not access, request or receive Google account data belonging to visitors, founders, or any other third party, and it has no end-user sign-in of its own.
How we use it. Solely to produce internal reporting about our own website's visibility. The figures it returns are aggregate search metrics: impressions, clicks, average position, and query and page totals.
How we store it. Derived aggregate figures are stored as files in a private source repository accessible only to Inflection's partners. OAuth credentials are held in encrypted secret storage and are never written into that repository.
How we share it. We do not. Google user data obtained through this tool is not sold, not transferred to any third party, not used for advertising, and not used to train generalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Limited Use. Inflection's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. That policy is published at https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
Retention and deletion. Access can be withdrawn at any time from the Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately revokes the tool's access. To request deletion of data already retrieved, write to contact@inflection.fund
Changes and contact
We will update this section if our processing changes, and will revise the date above when we do.
